Group Classes in Chislehurst Bromley and Sidcup
ABOUT MY CLASSES
I run 2 levels of mat classes; Beginners to Beginner Improvers (Level 1 Mixed Ability) and Beginner Improvers to Intermediates (Level 2 Mixed Ability).
Attendance is on a pre-booked basis for a block of classes normally running for 7 or 8 weeks. These blocks roll continuously throughout the year, with closure over the Christmas and Easter periods and for vacation periods which are advised.
The Beginner to Beginner Improver classes are for newcomers to Pilates as well as those who are already doing Pilates who wish to develop and build on techniques already learnt.
The Beginner Improver to Intermediate classes are for those who have been attending classes with me or elsewhere and, with consultation, feel ready to work at a higher level with more challenging exercises.
I work with a maximum of 12 clients (which is a condition of the Body Control Pilates Code of Practice), to ensure that I can afford time to each client to help them to learn effectively and progress safely. It is very much a ‘hands on’ teaching method.
WHAT TO WEAR
Something, first and foremost, that is comfortable for you and gives you the flexibility to move with freedom. Most clients prefer to wear leggings or jogging pants with a t-shirt or sweat shirt. Ideally, tighter fitting and lighter coloured clothing is very helpful for me to see how the body is moving. A sports bra or soft cup bra is preferable to an under-wired bra. No footwear is required so either socks or bare feet. Because the exercises are mainly non-aerobic it is advisable to wear layers in case the venue is not to the required temperature for you.
I provide all the equipment needed for each class so there is no need to bring anything along. You may, however, like to bring a bottle of water.
HOW TO ENROL IN A CLASS
I do require all new clients to attend an Introductory and Health Assessment Session (please refer to Pricing) prior to joining their mat work class. This is in order to help the client integrate into a class with clients that are already attending. It allows the client an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the Method and Principles of Pilates and the type of exercises that I teach. It will also give the client an opportunity to chat about their health, concerns about their body and short and long term goals. This Session takes place at my Studio in Chislehurst. Please come dressed to exercise (refer to What to Wear).
Once your session is booked and your choice of class space is reserved, please can you complete the Client Enrolment Form and return to me by email or post before your Session, if possible, or bring it with you to your Session.
For information about when a new BLOCK of CLASSES start please go to the News & Offers page. This will advise the exact dates, how many weeks, any omissions and price.
